Retreats

Akiva is a tremendous setting separate from the distractions of the world! Retreats are great ways to connect with your group, pursue Jesus, and restore your soul while stepping away from your daily grind. We provide lodging, meeting space, food service, and recreation options for your reservation.

Retreats can be scheduled January through mid-May, then again from late August through mid-November. We are closed for Easter weekend and Labor Day weekend. We will reserve a weekend for groups larger than 40 people. For groups smaller than 40, we are able to “double book” you on another weekend that is currently reserved by a compatible group.

Camp Akiva is a Christian evangelical camp. As a faith-based organization, we prioritize groups with a Christ-centered intent, to remain consistent with our mission to provide a setting separate from the distractions of the [secular] world. School groups, without a religious affiliation, are also welcome to request a booking. Akiva reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine whether a group’s purposes, beliefs, or conduct are inconsistent with our Statement of Faith.

We’ve developed a baseline framework to guide pricing for your retreat, but we understand that every group’s needs are unique. Feel free to discuss any adjustments with us, and we’ll tailor the reservation to your specific requirements.
Your retreat is confirmed once you sign and return the completed reservation contract along with a deposit, typically $500.

Retreats can begin Friday night at 5pm (earliest arrival of leadership and/or whole group)
Departure should be scheduled within the hour following your last meal. (i.e. staying through Sunday lunch: departure will be between 1-2 pm)

Breakfast: 8am-8:30am Lunch:12pm-12:30pm Dinner: 6pm-6:30pm

Our Kitchen Manager will design a menu for the weekend of your retreat and share it with you about two weeks prior to your event. You are welcome to pass along the menu to your attendees so they can coordinate directly with our Kitchen Manager about any special dietary needs.

We are willing to collaborate with and discuss options we can offer individuals who have food allergies. If someone’s preferential dietary choices limit their willingness to eat items from our menu, they are encouraged to bring food from home. We have a refrigerator & microwave in the corner of the dining area dedicated for guests’ use.

If we have more than one group on property for the weekend, you will have designated tables in our dining area with your group’s logo reserving them for your use.

Your contract will have a food deposit scheduled to coincide with the expectation to provide an updated headcount for your event two weeks prior. Your food deposit is roughly 50% of the food expense for your weekend’s reservation.

Lodging is reserved based on your anticipated group size. When you are planning your retreat, please be ready to provide an estimate of how many you want to reserve your space for. Our reservation contract has a minimum guarantee of 80% of your reserved headcount, which means if your attendance doesn’t quite hit your reservation estimate, we will require payment for at least 80% of your contracted amount.

– Elm Lodge – sleeps 52 total in twin bunk beds, contains its own meeting space
– Dorm – sleeps 144 total in twin bunk beds, contains its own meeting space
– Evergreen & Red Oak Lodge – sleeps 24 (of a single gender) in each lodge
– Akiva Suites – sleeps up to 6, contains one queen bed and 2 sets of bunk beds, with private bathrooms. We have 13 of the Akiva Suites available for reservation within a group’s reservation request.

Although our facility can handle up to 300 in the summer, that is with a full operating staff. During retreat season, we can guarantee service for groups up to 175. For groups of 175-300, please know we are whole-heartedly interested in hosting your group! However, we will need to discuss your retreat needs with you in order to ensure that we can successfully honor your group’s reservation needs and provide you the excellent service we aim to provide.
